Public guardian

A public guardian employed by a public guardianship office usually acts as the public guardian. In addition to public guardians, a number of guardianship secretaries work at the public guardianship offices.

In some regions, a public guardian employed by a provider of outsourced services may also act as a public guardian. The provider of outsourced services may be a municipality, a city or a private company, such as a law office.

The legal aid and public guardianship districts are responsible for organising the guardianship services. The districts conclude agreements with the service providers, where necessary.

All public guardians are supervised by the Digital and Population Data Service Agency.
